WHY USE A PROFESSIONAL GESSO:
Always use a quality artist's gesso for a lasting, archival base - a low-cost ground can flake and separate over time, taking your finished work with it.
DIRECTIONS:
- Use undiluted, or thin with up to 25% water
- Apply to your support (sanding non-porous or shiny surfaces first) and leave to dry for at least 24 hours
- Sand and reapply to create a smoother base
- Add acrylic colour for a custom tint
- Good for grounds under acrylic, oil, and pastel work
- Use on unprimed canvas, hardboard, paper, wood, and other non-oily porous supports
HOW TO USE:
- Fully intermixable with all Liquitex products
- When thinning beyond 25%, use an equal mixture of water and Liquitex Matte Medium
- Sand hard or shiny surfaces first, apply a thin coat with a wide, flat brush, and leave to dry for at least 24 hours before painting
- For a smoother base, sand the surface after drying and reapply gesso
- If using as a base for oils, apply 2-4 coats, sanding between each application
- Add acrylic colour for a custom tint - Soft Body Acrylic is the optimum consistency
